Playtech Exits CA Sweepstakes Casinos

Playtech is withdrawing its games from all sweepstakes casinos in California. 

This follows Playtech’s declaration that its titles on Chumba Casino in California are no longer available for players. 

Playtech offers some notable titles, including Mega Fire Blaze, Big Circus, and Oink Oink. The gaming provider also features one of blackjack’s most popular options: Live Blackjack.

Playtech’s Decision

The decision to pull their games from California comes after the state filed a lawsuit against Sweepsteaks Ltd., which operates Stake.us and the streaming platform Kick. Other gaming providers, such as Evolution and Hacksaw Gaming, were also affected.

While Playtech was not directly targeted in the case, these legal developments appear to have prompted the company to act by removing its content, helping protect it from potential lawsuits.

Chumba Casino’s move to remove Playtech games in California may also signal a strategic pivot toward vendors more closely aligned with the sweepstakes model.
